Artistic Planning

Also known as Artistic Manager, Artistic Administrator, Artist Coordinator/Liaison

A person who plans concerts.

The Artistic Planning team is responsible for overseeing the repertoire planning, managing Music Director interactions/schedules, booking guest artists and guest conductors. There is long and short-term planning involved in the work of Artistic Planning, often securing a full season’s worth of repertoire and guest artists. The Artistic team negotiates guest artist contracts, coordinates all details of a guest artist’s visit, and is the first point of contact for the guest artist when they are in town. This preparatory work ensures that a guest artist’s experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible and allows the Artist Liaison to focus on anything the artist needs closer to the day of the performance.
