College Prep for Musicians Scholarship Fund

The College Prep for Musicians® Scholarship Fund aids high school juniors and seniors in the expense of the college application process. The scholarship can be used for campus visits, trial lessons with music professors, recording expenses, music school application fees, and travel.

The process of applying to music schools can be very expensive.

The cost of trial lessons, airfare to those lessons and the auditions themselves, hotels for overnight stays, and application fees can total as much as $10,000 per student, depending on the number of schools and their locations. In working with talented high school music students, College Prep for Musicians® noted the lack of financial support for under resourced music students at this critical time in their careers. While financial support can be found for college tuition and post-college professional auditions, there are no scholarship funds that help students with the costs associated with getting into college.

This scholarship fund provides talented music students in their junior and/or senior years of high school with support for the college application process. The scholarship can be used for campus visits, trial lessons with music professors, music school application fees, and travel. The fund also gives students the opportunity to work with music-specific college admissions specialists as well as view educational material about careers in music.

Applications for the College Prep for Musicians® Scholarship will open in the fall of 2024.
