Massage Therapist
A massage therapist manipulates body tissues to enhance their clients’ well-being.
A massage therapist is a licensed professional who improves their clients’ well-being through massage. Work as a massage therapist is hands-on and can be physically taxing because therapists are manually manipulating deep tissue of their clients. Massage therapists can work in a clinic or have their own practice.
The skills needed to work in the field of massage therapy are very similar to the skills used when running a private studio. If you are a musician who has received or given private lessons, you will notice similarities in how a massage therapist must communicate with clients, create a wellness plan for each individual, and work in one-on-one settings with clients. This would be a good field for someone who has an interest in working in a setting similar to a private studio but does not want to pursue music. This would also be good for someone who wants to run their own business or work in a smaller clinic setting. A massage therapist is required to obtain a license.
